So, I’ve been playing a blockchain based game called Upland for about 3 months. It’s a real estate trading metaverse that allows you to buy and sell virtual properties that are tied to real world addresses using Google Maps. You aren’t buying real land. However as the game progresses you will be able to build houses, charge rent, and more in the metaverse with the virtual property you buy.
For me, one of the most exciting aspects of the game is that it’s an introduction to the next phase of the Internet. What is called Web 3. As you probably know, that’s already a thing. But this game is in its infancy and as it grows, it may become, as the creators of the game say, “the next big thing in tech.”
Visit the homepage for the game. Read about it and see what they are doing in Upland. Who knows, your next dream home just may be in the metaverse! But in all seriousness, the real world potential of the game to bring together many elements of our modern technology is fascinating.
There are many other metaverses out there to explore. For me, Upland seems accessible and easy to navigate once you learn the basics. And potentially something we all may be using in the future.
